My Role as a UX Designer

In my role as a UX Designer, I’m entrusted with the exciting task of shaping products that resonate deeply with users. My focus revolves around creating designs that effortlessly merge functionality with aesthetics, making interactions intuitive and delightful. I’m dedicated to ensuring that every user, whether internal stakeholders or external customers in the realms of B2B and B2C, experiences seamless and meaningful interactions with our offerings.

Designing with Purpose

I bring concepts to life through wireframes, flows, storyboards, and prototypes, ensuring that these visualizations communicate design ideas effectively and align with the needs of both users and our business objectives.

Users at the Core

I employ a user-centric design philosophy in every project. My mission is to understand user needs deeply, translating them into innovative design solutions that genuinely address their pain points and desires.

Unveiling Insights

I’m a detective of sorts, embarking on user research journeys to uncover hidden insights, pain points, and opportunities for enhancement. These insights serve as the cornerstone for my design choices and allow me to validate my ideas with real user feedback.

Collaborative Spirit

I collaborate closely with product owners, evaluating and prioritizing opportunities, while considering constraints and features. Furthermore, I actively contribute to our design team, participating in the creation of a unified design system that delivers a consistent experience across our entire SaaS platform.

Test, Refine, Repeat

I carry out usability tests and user interviews, engaging with our users directly to understand their perspectives. This iterative process ensures that my designs are constantly refined based on invaluable user feedback, making the experience more intuitive and enjoyable.

Numbers That Speak

My decisions are guided by both qualitative and quantitative data. By analyzing insights from tools like FullStory and interpreting the results of A/B tests, I make informed design choices, backed by tangible evidence of their impact.

Holistic Collaboration

My role goes beyond design. I collaborate with marketing and product departments, ensuring that our design strategies harmonize with our larger business objectives and enhance our product’s position in the market.

What I Bring

My background includes a degree in Marketing and over 10 years professional experience in design. I am proficient in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Adobe Photoshop, Balsamiq and more. My portfolio showcases my journey – my design process, problem solving prowess and the tangible impact of my designs.

How It All Began

From a young age, I always enjoyed creating things.  Whether it was a piece of art, craft or a newspaper filled with stories my brother and I wrote at the age of 9 to hand out to all of our friends and families to enjoy. Fast forward to highschool and I joined the yearbook team. It was my favorite – getting to collaborate with a team to create something that so many would use for years to come. I moved on to college at Auburn University and obtained a degree in Marketing that would give me the skillset to understand users and how different methodologies speak to different audiences and their behaviors. I was so entrigued by the psychology of it all. Fast forward to my first job which was a marketing assistant at a manufacturing company, I was put in charge of the company website. This sparked an interest in my I didn’t know I had before. I loved being able to deliver our brand’s message in a digital platform. I couldn’t get enough. This led me to an opportunity at a design agency where I could design websites and speak for brands of multiple industries and sizes. I loved it. After almost 6 years working in the marketing agency space, I wanted a change. I started studying product design and more specifically human centered design. My first job as a UX Designer was a 6 month contract at a Fortune 500 Company and I was able to work alongside well seasoned UX Designers and Product Managers. I knew this is where I wanted to be. After this contract ended, I enrolled myself in the NN/g Certification program and received my UX Certification in Interaction
