How to Write A Great FAQs PageMarch 28, 2016
A FAQs page, or your Frequently Asked Questions page, on your website can be a really great tool for both you and your visitors. Here are a few ideas on how you can make it a great page.
Keep a List
Write down a list of questions that you are most often asked by your customers and/or prospects. Review each question carefully. Select the top 10 to 15 questions that are most relevant to your business and answer them in very simple terms. Try to be as concise as possible with using only a few sentences. If you have more than 10 to 15 questions, it may be best to break up your questions into categories by topic.
Keep it Visible
Be sure your FAQs page is easy to find on your website. The last thing you want is for someone to have to ask, “Where can I find your FAQ page?”. Consider putting it in your main navigation or in the footer of your page where it is easy to find.
Keep it Relevant
Your questions need to be updated as your policies and procedures change. What may be the right answer today may not be relevant six months from now. Keep the information as up to date as possible to avoid confusion.
Keep it Simple
Make sure your questions and answers are short and sweet. You don’t want your customers to have to read a book to find the answer they are looking for. Get straight to the point so that you don’t leave your customers confused and frustrated.
Keep in Touch
Make sure that your contact information is readily available in case your FAQs page does not answer their questions.
